To make use of our SmartFix™ feature, you will need to install a JS snippet on your website, which can be done using Google Tag Manager.
Using Google Tag Manager (GTM) allows you to deploy the script across your entire website without modifying theme files or templates.
Once installed, the remediation script will automatically run across your website and enable AI-assisted accessibility fixes.
Here are the steps you’ll need to follow to get set up.
Step 1: Locate Your SmartFix™ Script
After adding your domain to ACE™ Scanner, you will see the option to Set Up SmartFix™.
Here, you’ll find your unique JavaScript snippet.
To locate the script:
Log into your AccessibilityChecker.org account
Click on your domain
Click Set Up SmartFix™
Copy the script snippet provided
Step 2: Log Into Google Tag Manager
Open your Google Tag Manager account and select the correct container for your website.
Step 3: Create a New Tag
In the left-hand menu:
Click Tags
Select New
This will open the tag configuration screen.
Step 4: Configure the Tag Type
In the Tag Configuration panel:
Click Tag Configuration
Select: Custom HTML.
The Custom HTML tag type allows you to inject JavaScript across your website.
You can now paste your remediation script into the HTML field.
Step 5: Configure the Trigger
Under Triggering:
Click Triggering
Select: All Pages
This ensures the remediation script loads across your entire website.
Step 6: Save the Tag
Give the tag a name such as: SmartFix
Click Save
Step 7: Submit and Publish the Container
After saving the tag:
Click Submit
Add a version name if desired
Click Publish
Important: The remediation script will not go live until the GTM container has been published.
Step 8: Validate the Connection
Return to your ACE™ Scanner dashboard in the SmartFix™ pop-up and click on Validate Connection.
